All lanes closed on I-75 North due to crash involving tractor-trailer

It happened on Interstate 75 in the northbound lanes between SR 120 Loop and North Marietta Parkway, the Marietta Police Department said.

MARIETTA, Ga. — All lanes are closed following a crash involving a tractor-trailer in Marietta on Friday, according to police in the area.

It happened on Interstate 75 in the northbound lanes between SR 120 Loop and North Marietta Parkway, the Marietta Police Department said.

Georgia Department of Transportation said crews responded to the crash around 12:13 p.m. and expected to have it cleared by 12:46 p.m.

11Alive Traffic Tracker Crash Clark recommends Highway 41/Cobb Parkway as an alternate up to the South Loop/Hwy. 120, which can take them back up around to I-75. From the other side of I-75, Powers Ferry can also take you up to the Loop.

The I-75 express lanes are also an option for those with a Peach Pass.

"Due to the size and nature of the accident, the interstate may remain blocked for an extended period of time," police said. "Crews are already en route to begin directing traffic and clearing the lanes."

Northbound traffic is being diverted from the interstate, across North Marietta Pkwy and then back onto the entrance ramp to avoid the blocked lanes, according to the Marietta Police.
