GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A four-vehicle crash involving an overturned van on I-85 North at Boggs Road sent at least one person to the hospital with serious injuries Tuesday evening, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Lanes were blocked on the interstate past, the Georgia Department of Transportation said, as crews responded to the area.11Alive SkyTracker flew over the scene, where a white van appeared to have been flipped over on its side.
According to GSP, one vehicle was overturned, and three others were involved, including a tractor-trailer. Troopers responded just before 4:55 p.m.
"The driver of the overturned vehicle was transported with serious injuries, and the other driver complained of injuries," GSP said.
11Alive's traffic expert, Crash Clark, advised drivers to use Satellite Boulevard or Buford Highway as alternate routes to get around it.
GSP said troopers investigated the crash, and the vehicles involved were towed from the scene. The crash was cleared just before 5:40 p.m., GSP said.
