ATLANTA — Underscoring the tricky conditions that drivers will be facing Monday morning around Atlanta as the area continues to see freezing temperatures, a MARTA bus hit a patch of black ice and struck a utility pole.

Fortunately there were no injuries in the incident, MARTA officials said.

There were several other cars involved in wrecks on scene. One woman said she was driving with her uncle, who is paralyzed, and she also hit black ice and crashed into another car. The woman, Iona Flagg, told 11Alive first responders helped her with her uncle when they arrived and that her car was totaled.

"People that's coming out, if you don't know, please don't come out unless you have to because it's very dangerous out here," Flagg said.

The wrecks occurred at the intersection of Joseph E. Lowery Blvd. and Joseph E. Boone Blvd.
