MARTA line reopens after person falls on tracks at Vine City station, officials say

It happened around 6:15 a.m. at the Vine City station; MARTA said someone was taken to the hospital after they fell onto the track.

ATLANTA — A MARTA station is back open after a person fell on the tracks on Saturday morning, according to the transportation service.

It happened around 6:15 a.m. at the Vine City station; MARTA said someone was taken to the hospital after they fell onto the track.

Service was stopped but resumed around 8:25. MARTA posted on Twitter that their shuttle bus service was canceled as well but has not updated 11Alive to say it was reopened. 

When the incident happened, MARTA posted on Twitter that it'd canceled its 8:03 a.m. trip from H E Holmes.

MARTA did not disclose any information about the person who fell on the tracks, but added on Twitter that delays should be expected on its East and West line.
