DUNWOODY, Ga. — Drivers may have noticed a new way to get onto GA 400 Monday after a new bridge opened up on Interstate 285 by Dunwoody.
Georgia Department of Transportation leaders announced that its new traffic pattern to exit onto State Road 400 from I-285 eastbound is now available.
The left-hand merge shifted to place drivers in lanes that continue onto SR 400 northbound just past Abernathy Road. The small shift now takes travelers from I-285 eastbound onto SR 400 northbound.
It is all part of the Transform 285/400 improvement project, which is working to reduce traffic congestion near the interchange in metro Atlanta. It is specifically targeting about four miles of I-285 from west of Roswell to east of Ashford Dunwoody Road and another six miles along SR 400 from the Glenridge Connector to north of Spalding Drive.
