COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A major interstate is open again in Cobb County following a multi-vehicle accident that happened Thursday night.
According to maps provided by the Georgia Department of Transportation, the accident happened near the SR-120 Loop/North Marietta Parkway and appears to have involved six cars and a truck.
The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. and remained closed until roughly 12:30 a.m. At one point, traffic backups extended roughly 3.5 miles to Delk Road leaving drivers to find alternates such as I-285 to Cobb Parkway.
Authorities haven't yet said what caused the crash. A spokesperson for Marietta Police said in a follow-up on Friday that there were only minor injuries reported.
