BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — A major accident on I-75 South before Emerson-Allatoona Road caused major delays Wednesday afternoon.
Georgia State Patrol told 11Alive the incident happened at approximately 12:50 p.m. when a Fed-EX truck pulling two trailers was traveling south on I-75 near mile marker 281.
Georgia 511 reported a travel alert detailing all lanes being closed and encouraged drivers to use an alternative route .
The truck traveled into the median and down to Joe Stella Drive located below the interstate. The truck burst into flames causing visible damage to I-75 overpass bridge.
There were no reported injuries from this accident.
