HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A semi-truck hauling chickens overturned at a Hall County intersection Wednesday evening, according to the sheriff's office.
The intersection of Lula Road and Old Cornelia Highway in Lula, Georgia, was closed to traffic for several hours. In an update, the sheriff's office said the road reopened at 10:30 p.m.
The intersection is down the road from Lula City Hall and Lula Elementary School.
Hall County Sheriff's deputies helped with traffic control. The sheriff's office added Georgia State Patrol will be investigating the crash.
Earlier in the day, the sheriff's office said for drivers to use alternate routes and avoid the area.
Officials have not yet said if the driver or any of the chickens were injured. 11Alive has reached out to GSP for more information.
