Here is what you should know.

ATLANTA — Traffic is always an issue for Atlanta drivers, but this weekend, you may feel and see the impacts a bit more.

That's because there are a lot of key events taking place that can likely impact your commute, including a visit from Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday and Sunday.

Here is what we know right now.

Saturday, Oct. 19 traffic impacts in Atlanta

VP Kamala Harris in town

  • The vice president will be in metro Atlanta for an event. Details about where she will be have not been publicly released.
  • Impacts: If she comes into the city through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, rolling road blocks with her motorcade could shutdown the Downtown Connector or I-20. Her route and plans have not been shared due to security reasons.

Georgia Tech vs. Notre Dame game

  • Tech will take on the Fighting Irish at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
  • Impacts: Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. Attendees should get there early. It's also encouraged to take MARTA to the stadium to avoid potential traffic impacts in Downtown Atlanta.

Sunday, Oct 20 traffic impacts in Atlanta

VP Kamala Harris to visit New Birth Missionary Baptist Church

  • Harris for a second day in a row will spend time in the metro area. She will attend New Birth's service Sunday morning.
  • Impacts: The service begins at 9:30 a.m. New Birth is located at 6400 Woodrow Road in Stonecrest. Many commuters take I-20 to get to the church. There are continuous double-lane closures on I-20 eastbound from Wesley Chapel Road to Panola Road for the I-285/I20East Interchange project. Two lanes will remain open, GDOT shared. This could cause some congestion. For alternate route, drivers can take Highway 278/Covington Highway.

Falcons to take on Seattle Seahawks

  • The Atlanta Falcons will take on Seattle on Sunday afternoon. The game will be played at The Benz.
  • Impacts: The game time is set for 1 p.m. If Harris' motorcade takes I-20 into Downtown, this could impact traffic. The motorcade could also go down I-285 South and then west to get to Hartsfield. Fans headed to the game can take MARTA to avoid potentially busy roads.
