ATLANTA — The Monday morning commute was off to a rough start as all lanes were blocked on Interstate 285 southbound just past Memorial Drive due to a pedestrian struck.
Police confirmed with 11Alive that this was fatal.
11Alive's Crash Clark said to use I-75/85 through the city to avoid the incident.
The Georgia Department of Transportation said they expect the lanes to reopen at around 6:30 a.m., however, they opened just before 6 a.m.
On Interstate 20 eastbound in Conyers, all lanes were also blocked past Salem Road. They reopened just after 6:30 a.m.
Motorists were urged to use Old Covington Highway as an alternate.
