COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Drivers will now be ticketed by a new camera if they run a red light at a busy Cobb County intersection.
A spokesperson with Marietta's government announced that a red light camera has been installed at the intersection of Cobb Parkway and South Marietta Parkway, but it will not go into enforcement into Nov. 17.
The intersection is right near the Kennesaw State University rec center in Marietta.
The city is sending out letters to drivers who run the red light between the time of installment and the day leading up to its enforcement in order to let them know they are soon moving into photo enforcement.
The city also installed message boards at the intersection in order to help spread the word.
Drivers will be fined $70 for running the red light.
