A multi-vehicle wreck on I-75 Southbound just before Mount Paran Road is causing significant delays for commuters Thursday morning.
Four left lanes are currently blocked, backing up traffic to Cumberland Boulevard. Emergency crews are on the scene, working to clear the area, with one car already loaded onto a flatbed truck. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, crews arrived at the area around 5 a.m. to clean up the crash and expected to have it cleared by 5:45, but that has come and gone.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible. For those traveling from Marietta toward Midtown, an alternate route is suggested; 11Alive Traffic Expert Crash Clark said to consider taking Highway 41, which transitions into Northside Parkway and Northside Drive, for a smoother, less congested drive.
Officials have not provided any other details about the crash or those involved.
