LAGRANGE, Ga. — Police in a west Georgia town say a traffic accident claimed the lives of two people on Monday evening.
LaGrange Police said the crash happened just before 8 p.m. in the area of Hamilton Road and East Lukken Industrial Drive. Based on their preliminary investigation, police believe that the first vehicle had stopped at a stop sign heading east on East Lukken Industrial and was crossing Hamilton Road when it was hit by the second vehicle that was heading north.
The resulting crash left two people, later identified as 77-year-old Janice Robbins of Hogansville, Georgia, and 46-year-old Jana Balaam of Pennsylvania, dead.
Police said the collision is still under investigation and are asking anyone with additional information to call Sgt. Marshall McCoy at 706-883-2642.
