COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County officials and Via, a leader in transportation technology, celebrated the launch of CobbLinc Go, the county’s first microtransit program, at Silver Comet Linear Park on Thursday.

This new service, powered by Via's software, offers a flexible, curb-to-curb transit option for residents commuting to areas without existing fixed-route services.

The two-year pilot will operate in South Cobb on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at a cost of $2.50 per ride. Officials say the data gathered from this pilot will guide future microtransit zones across Cobb County.

“Via’s software will help us optimize operations and reduce costs over time by providing data on rider patterns and vehicle efficiency and help evaluate where future transit investments could be made," Lisa Cupid, chair of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, said.

The service is designed to complement CobbLinc’s existing routes and replace the current FLEX service, offering an expanded coverage area at a similar cost.

“Via is thrilled to team up with CobbLinc to launch CobbLinc Go, which will use our innovative technology to expand access to flexible public transit in South Cobb so that residents can more easily commute across the county,” said Tyrone Smith, Partnerships Lead at Via.

CobbLinc Go is expected to drive economic growth and support transit equity by expanding transportation options in underserved areas. Cupid expressed optimism that the program will set a precedent for equitable and sustainable transit solutions in Greater Atlanta.
