ATLANTA — A Delta Air Lines flight bound from Milwaukee to Atlanta landed safely at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after the plane faced an issue with its nose landing gear, a spokesperson with the airline said.
An emergency was declared aboard the Boeing 757-200 for air traffic control priority handling for its descent into Atlanta on Thursday.
The flight was completely full with 199 passengers, four flight attendants and two pilots aboard Delta flight 1435. The passengers deplaned as usual when the plane arrived to the gate.
A Delta spokesperson released the following statement:
“The Delta flight crew enacted their extensive training to manage an indication of a potential nose landing gear issue, as nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and crew. The flight landed safely and was towed to an arrival gate out of an abundance of caution.”
This comes just less than three weeks after a Delta Boeing 757-200 declared an emergency due to a "flap disagree" before making its landing safely in Atlanta after taking off in Savannah. The issue stems from when the plane's flaps become misaligned.
