Delta and Starbucks launch new loyalty rewards program

The two highest-grossing companies in their respective markets have joined forces as they announced Wednesday the launch of a brand new partnership.

ATLANTA — Lovers of both Starbucks coffee and Delta Air Lines will now have the opportunity to reap the rewards of both loyalty programs in just one place.

The two highest-grossing companies in their respective markets have joined forces as they announced Wednesday the launch of a brand new partnership that will offer members of both Delta SkyMiles and Starbucks Rewards the opportunity to link their accounts to earn more benefits.

Those who choose to participate in the program can link either account at either deltastarbucks.com or starbucksdelta.com. Once linked, customers can enjoy the dual rewards program by earning one SkyMile for every $1 spent on eligible purchases at Starbucks, according to details of the partnership. Those who purchase coffee on days of their flight will earn double Starbucks stars.

Members who link their accounts from Oct. 12 to Dec. 31 will earn an additional 500 Delta SkyMiles as a bonus for being an early enrollee, the companies said. Additionally, those who make a purchase at Starbucks within the time span will earn 150 stars towards their account.

"We’re continuing to evolve Delta’s SkyMiles program to give our customers valuable, premium experiences not just on the days they travel but in their everyday lives as well,” Prashant Sharma, Vice President of Loyalty at Delta said in a news release.

This new loyalty rewards program is open to both existing members and new members who want to join, the companies announced.
