PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – Headed to Panama City Beach for Spring Break? Authorities want you to be aware of new alcohol restrictions.
According to the Bay County Sheriff's Office, officials passed a new ordinance on Tuesday that bans drinking alcohol on the county's sandy beaches.
Anyone found consuming alcohol on the beaches is subject to arrest, Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen said.
The ordinance is in effect from March 1 through April 18.
The new rule was passed after a weekend shooting of seven people at a spring break house party.
