ATLANTA — We've been in a hot stretch of weather across north Georgia as temperatures have consistently been rising into the mid to upper 90s for more than a week and on Wednesday, Atlanta hit the 100° mark.
Take a look at the graphic below.
Atlanta hadn't hit this temperature since August 13, 2019, meaning it has been almost five years since we've been in the triple-digits.
This also tied a daily record of 100° set back on June 26, 1914. A 100° tie from 100 years ago!
The heat has been tough, but thankfully, we are expecting a bit of relief from the heat starting tomorrow. While temperatures will still be above-average, they will be much lower.
