ATLANTA — Heavy rains moved through the metro Atlanta area Friday morning, with more consistent rain expected throughout the morning and day.
The heavy rains left surface streets throughout the city and broader area waterlogged, with flooding visible in pockets dotting the metro.

11Alive meteorologist Wes Peery says the worst of it has likely passed, but lighter, consistent should continue throughout the day.
The Federal Aviation Administration reported a ground stop was in effect for arrivals at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport due to the weather.
Most of Atlanta, meanwhile, was also under a dense fog advisory until 10 a.m. this morning.
The StormTrackers report it will get colder again on Saturday, with temperatures dipping back into the upper 40s and lower 50s for most of the day.
The sunshine returns Sunday and Monday with highs in the 50s.
