Coldest night yet of fall expected with temps to dip below 50 degrees

The fall chill is setting in around Atlanta!

ATLANTA — Bundle up if you go for a midnight stroll this evening - the fall chill is starting to set in around Atlanta!

The 11Alive StormTrackers report that it's expected temperatures will dip below 50 degrees for the first time this season tonight, as low as 48.

So far, the lowest we've seen since the seasons turned over to autumn was 50, earlier this week.

The cooler air is expected to stick around through Sunday - lovely weather for gathering around a fire or setting up an outdoor watch party, with Auburn visiting the Dawgs.

For those of you that like a good, crisp chill in the air, make sure you enjoy it this weekend. It's not exactly an impending heat wave, but the low temperatures through next week are expected to be in the mid- and higher-50s.
