PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. — The Peachtree City Fire Department said Saturday afternoon that a number of condos and vehicles in the Tinsley Mill Village area, along Lake Peachtree, have experienced some flooding due to Saturday's heavy rains.
According to officials, residents in seven condo units were able to safely self-evacuate before water rose into the building. A number of vehicles were also left underwater in the immediate vicinity.
Authorities said the area is along Lake Peachtree.
Peachtree City is included in the Flash Flood Warning that was issued for parts of metro Atlanta. Additional heavy rainfall is expected through the rest of the day on Saturday.
In addition to the flooding in the Tinsley Mill Village area, Peachtree City officials have been dealing with several streets that have had high standing water levels, including, most notably, the intersection of Georgia Highway 74 and Georgia Highway 54, due to a nearby sinkhole in a sidewalk.
