As winter weather approaches the state of Georgia, Delta Air Lines has come up with an operational plan it will use if snow and ice hit metro Atlanta Tuesday.
The airline said Monday it will proactively cancel approximately 170 mainline and Delta Connection flights for Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport ahead of the possible winter storm.

Snow is expected in the region beginning Monday night, and running through Tuesday evening. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for much of metro Atlanta for up to 1 1/2 inches of snow, mainly along and north of a line from Carrollton to Marietta to Canton.
During the hours of anticipated snowfall, the airline plans on decreasing decrease its flight load to mitigate delays and keep the operation moving.

Delta said Customers can expect de-icing operations at the airport during the period of snowfall. The airline issued a weather waiver for allowing customers traveling to, from or through Hartsfield-Jackson Tuesday and Wednesday to make one-time changes to their travel plans.
The airline is encouraging its customers are encouraged to check their flight status on Delta.com or the Fly Delta mobile app. Customers can also get updates sent directly to their mobile device or by email with One-Time Flight Notification.
