First freeze warning of the season for north Georgia

Freeze Warning is in effect for much of north Georgia overnight as temperatures tumble close to 32° for many by Monday morning.

ATLANTA — A strong cold front will moved through Sunday afternoon.  That front is ushering in the coldest air since March 1st into north Georgia and metro Atlanta.

Some will even see their thermometer read in the upper 20s.

This makes for the first freeze of the season for north Georgia. A little behind schedule, too, given we typically see our first freeze in mid- to late-October.

The wind is also kicking up behind the front.  A wind advisory is in effect for parts of north Georgia through Monday morning.  Winds will whip up between 10-20mph with some gusts up to 35.  That will make the cold air feel even colder!

Election Day weather looks fantastic. However, it’ll be another chilly day.

Temperatures warm up to average come Wednesday and the remainder of the week.
