ATLANTA — There's a chance for thunderstorms as the rain comes back for the Fourth of July weekend, bringing inclement weather Sunday.
Some of the thunderstorms will drop some brief heavy rain, produce frequent lightning, and gusty winds. This weather is expected to stick around through the Independence Day holiday weekend.

7:06 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Towns County until 7:30 p.m.
6:49 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Greene, Oglethorpe and Taliaferro counties until 7:30 p.m.
6:37 p.m. | Walton, Oconee and Morgan counties have been extended for a severe thunderstorm warning until 7:15 p.m.
6:03 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been extended for Morgan County until 6:45 p.m.
6:00 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Union and Towns counties until 6:30 p.m.
5:48 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Clarke, Oconee, Morgan, Walton and Barrow counties until 6:30 p.m.
5:45 p.m. | Centennial Olympic Park has reopened. Guests are able to re-enter the park.
5:30 p.m. | Severe thunderstorm warning has been extended for DeKalb and Rockdale counties until 6 p.m.
5:20 p.m. | Centennial Olympic Park is under a temporary evacuation due to severe weather in downtown Atlanta.
5:10 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Pike County until 6 p.m.
5:05 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for DeKalb, Henry and Rockdale counties until 5:30 p.m.
5:00 p.m | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Newton and Rockdale counties until 5:30 p.m.
4:55 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been extended for Lamar and Monroe counties until 5:30 p.m.
4:25 p.m. | Clayton and Henry counties have also been added to a severe thunderstorm warning until 5 p.m.
4:15 p.m. | Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Upson, Lamar and Monroe counties until 5 p.m.
