ATLANTA — The Mother's Day weekend is bringing heat along with some showers and storms on Saturday.
After a cloudy, foggy start Saturday morning, clouds thinned out in the afternoon. Temps rose into the mid 80s creating conditions for a few isolated showers and storms.
Atlanta and north Georgia are not under any risk level for severe weather, according to the National Weather Service.
Nonetheless, at around 5:30 p.m. a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Habersham County in 11Alive's viewing area, as well as neighboring Stephens and Franklin counties on the border with South Carolina.
The warning is in effect until 6:45 p.m. (the warning was originally issued for 6 p.m. and then extended).
11Alive will track any other weather developments this evening.
