ATLANTA — While many are watching the Gulf and Hurricane Laura, moderate to heavy rainfall is continuing over parts of north Georgia through Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Some thunderstorms may be embedded in the showers that pass through the region. However, the biggest threat is from heavy rainfall that may cause flash flooding in some areas.
Any heavier storms that develop may include brief gusty winds, and cloud-to-ground lightning.
Some areas have already received as much as 1 to- inches of rainfall already on Tuesday.
The 11Alive StormTrackers are monitoring the conditions throughout the region and will have any updated weather advisories, including flood watches or warnings if they are issued.

5 pm | As of the 5 pm update, maximum sustained winds on Hurricane Laura have increased to 80 mph.

4:55 pm | Just a heavy, steady rainfall in Canton from this afternoon, was sent to us by one of our StormTrackers, Kimberly Morris.
2:23 pm | A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for parts of Polk and Haralson counties until 8:30 pm.
At 2:23 pm, Doppler Radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Areas that will experience flash flooding include Buchanan, Eubank Lake and Draketown.
2:04 pm | A Flood Warning has been issued for Shoal Creek near Griffin affecting parts of Spalding County until further notice.
At 1:45 pm, the stage was at 7 feet. The flood stage at that point is at 7 feet.
With additional rainfall forecast on Tuesday afternoon, minor flooding may occur.
