ATLANTA — Labor Day Weekend may mark the unofficial end of summer for many, but there's still a little less than a month until the first day of fall, Sept. 22.
As summer comes to a close, the sun is setting earlier!
According to the U.S. Naval Observatory, Atlanta's last 8:00 p.m. sunset of the year will be on Sept. 3.
The sun will set at 7:58 p.m. on Sept. 4, but there will still be nearly 13 hours of daylight. By Oct. 18, sunset will be before 7:00 p.m., and we lose an hour and a half of daylight.
If you like the later sunsets, they'll return to 8:00 p.m. in Atlanta on April 3, 2025.
