It's no secret that it's been hot the past few weeks in Georgia, but there is relief on the way.
With Tuesday’s passing cold front, taking our temperatures down below average for the first time in many weeks, 11Alive StormTrackers thought it would be a good time to take a look at just how hot this year has been so far.
What’s interesting is, we haven’t had any real extreme heat!
We haven’t had any days so far this summer where we’ve hit those oppressive 100-degree temperatures, but we have been running some three to four degrees above normal just about every day.
There have been plenty of days when we hit 90 degrees or warmer.
On average, we usually have 37 days where we are 90 degrees or warmer. But this year, we have already had 36 days - and summer won’t be over for another two months!
Fall begins on Monday, Sept. 23.
