ATLANTA — As Hurricane Helene continues to get closer to making landfall along the Florida coast, and even storm surge impacts being felt across areas of the Sunshine State, people are wanting to know if their favorite grocery store will remain open.
Despite being in impacted areas of Helene, Publix announced that many of its stores are remaining open to assist those during the storm, with some having modified hours.
"We are continuing to monitor Hurricane Helene and its impact on our communities. Our stores will remain open in affected areas as long as it is safe. In areas where stores have closed, we are committed to reopening to serve our communities as soon as possible," Publix announced on its Facebook page.
Many of the stores along the western Florida coast and stores in more of a direct path of Helene on the Florida panhandle have modified hours. But there are still several stores in both of those areas that are still open operating under regular store hours.
