GRIFFIN, Ga. — Exactly one year ago today, devastating tornadoes ripped through the city of Griffin, ravaging homes, businesses and people's way of life.
On Jan. 12, 2023, up to four tornadoes were on the ground at once in just a two-mile radius in Spalding County, wreaking havoc for those living there.
Fast forward to January 2024, and the community is still rebuilding a full year later. Volunteer groups are still active in the community as storm victims are still living in homes severely damaged by the tornadoes.
11Alive is taking a look back at that day and how the community is recovering -- and still struggling -- one year later.
