National Weather Service confirms EF-1 tornado hit Baldwin County

NWS Atlanta Meteorologist in charge Keith Stellman said they are still assessing the path of the storm at this time.

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ga. — The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado hit Baldwin County on Sunday.

NWS Peachtree City Meteorologist-in-charge Keith Stellman said there were winds up to 100 mph. The tornado was likely on the ground for five to ten minutes. 

They are still assessing the path of the storm. He is doing more damage assessment east of the EMA center. 

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp spoke in Baldwin County on Tuesday and commended the state and local response in both Baldwin County and Troup County, where an EF-3 tornado hit on Sunday as well. 

Kemp will tour the damage from the tornado in Baldwin County today.
