ATLANTA — Folks in parts of north Georgia are waking up to a white Christmas, after Christmas Eve snowfall dusted the region and continued overnight.

The Christmas Eve weather even brought flurries to metro Atlanta, and delighted 11Alive viewers shared some of their photos with our 11Alive StormTrackers Facebook group (which you can join with a request!)

"We truly have a white Christmas!" Leah Breeding Kelly wrote.

We were sent photos from places like Hiawassee and Blairsville farther up north where there was considerable accumulation of the snow. But even as far south as Fayette County, viewers reported flurries.

According to the National Weather Service's Atlanta station, snow was still falling in parts of the state as late as 1 a.m. this morning.

They warned though to "please take care as temperatures are quickly falling and patchy black ice will be possible."
