ATLANTA — Strong storms and even a tornado left extensive damage across west Georgia over the weekend.
Many are now picking up the pieces of homes scattered and destroyed while multiple roads remain flooded.
The storms first started to make their way through the metro area Saturday night; however, the worst conditions wouldn't arrive until the next day.

According to the sheriff's office, anywhere from 80 to 100 homes were damaged, with 20 to 30 of those having either "major damage" or being completely destroyed.

11Alive viewer John Stone said there were homes leveled and possibly a church destroyed along West Point Road.
Along I-85, trees could be seen snapped and damaged.
As the storm continued east, homes were destroyed in Meriwether County, with some residents even being trapped for hours, according to officials.
11Alive spoke with one family who's whole property was damaged, with the roof being torn off their home, debris flung over the yard and a trailer on top of their car.
Later that night, another round of thunderstorms moved through metro Atlanta.
11Alive viewers shared video of golf-ball sized hail raining down on their homes and vehicles.
Meanwhile, in Upson County, officials captured this photo of Jeff Davis Road, cracked and collapsed as a result of the storms.
As another band of storms moved through Monday morning, flooding became a major concern.
