COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — Residents along Gordon Road and Tabby Lynch Road saw some of the worst damage in Coweta County during Sunday morning's storms.
"I heard the noise at about 4:30 or so," said Sonny Ramirez. "I started hearing trees crackling and falling. And that's what got us up. I've got at least 30 or 40 trees down around my property."
He awakened to find a mess in his yard along Tabby Lynch Road, but he said it was over just as fas it as it started.
"Maybe 20 seconds at most," Ramirez said. "By the time I got up out of bed, it was over."
Ralph Farr doesn't live too far from Ramirez.
"It sounded like a jet landing on top of the house," said Ralph Farr who had trees to fall near his home. "I got up at 4:15 and it hit. It was for a minute and it was gone."
No injuries were reported, but several homes sustained some property damage, and a number of trees were blocking roadways.
Clean-up was continuing for folks in Coweta after the big mess that the storm left behind.
Initially, Coweta Fire and Rescue estimated a total of eight trees had fallen across the entire county, but that number grew once the sun came up.
Crews spent the morning clearing roads and restoring power to the hundreds that lost it.
National Weather Service survey crews were planning to head out to Coweta County later in the day on Sunday to determine if a tornado had actually touched down, or if the damage was the result of straight-line winds -- the mark of a very severe thunderstorm.

A Wind Advisory remained in effect through 7 p.m. Sunday evening for wind gusts up to 35 mph, which may threaten to knock down additional trees and power lines across portions of north Georgia.
Georgia Power and Georgia EMC are working to keep up with any additional power outages that take place as a result of any downed trees or power lines through the day on Sunday.
