GEORGIA, USA — Severe storms moved through metro Atlanta Wednesday afternoon causing several fallen trees and downed power lines in busy intersections and areas around the Peach State.
As the storms moved through the metro and fizzled out, many roadways were closed due to the trees making a busy after-work commute difficult to navigate.
Storms had been producing gusty winds, heavy rain, and small hail for some parts of Georgia. Much of the metro area was included in the marginal level 1 risk for severe weather.
Although storms were expected to weaken in the early evening hours, a few isolated showers could linger.
