SKY VALLEY, Ga. — The snow that came to parts of north Georgia, Thursday, was a sight to see. Especially along a waterfall in Sky Valley!
11Alive meteorologist Wes Peery and photojournalist Jefferson Cochran traveled though some of the northern counties tracking the snow as it came down during the day.
Peery tweeted videos and photos throughout the journey and there was one clip, in particular, that was magical!
The snow falling near the waterfall was simply beautiful! This is along Mud Creek Trail.
Precipitation began freezing and turning into snow late Thursday morning in far north Georgia, including Sky Valley, Blue Ridge and Brasstown Bald.
The snow may not be sticking, but a winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of the northeast Georgia mountain areas until 1 a.m. on Friday. There's also a concern for black ice.
