ATLANTA — After warmer temperatures for the past several days, rain has moved into north Georgia Wednesday.
Severe thunderstorms and strong winds moved into metro Atlanta and north Georgia Wednesday afternoon. The conditions triggered some severe thunderstorm warnings.
Due to strong gusts, a Wind Advisory is also in effect through Wednesday, so be sure to secure outside items and prepare for possible downed trees and power outages.

5:44 p.m. | FlightAware is reporting that 381 flights are delayed at the Atlanta airport. Of those delays, 240 are from Delta and 35 are from Southwest.

5:29 p.m. | Another viewer sent in the heavy downpours in Calhoun.
5:28 p.m. | An 11Alive viewer on our StormTracker Facebook page sent in this video of wind bending trees in Calhoun in north Georgia.
5:22 p.m. | Drivers are encouraged to watch out for crews on the side of the road restoring power lines in Cobb County and to practice Georgia's move-over law.
5:12 p.m. | There are currently 312 flights delayed at the Atlanta airport, according to FlightAware. 223 of those flights are Delta flights, and 33 are Southwest flights. You can track delays and cancellations here.
5:05 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Greene County until 5:45 p.m.
5:01 p.m. | A sharp temperature drop is expected to follow the thunderstorms in metro Atlanta and north Georgia. 11Alive Chief Meteorologist Chris Holcomb breaks down that timeline below.
4:59 p.m. | Highway 92 South at Peeples Road is currently closed down due to a fallen tree blocking the roadway and taking down power lines in Fayette County, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office. It's not clear when the road will reopen.
4:56 p.m. | There are currently over 13,700 power outages in Georgia, according to Georgia EMC. Over 10,000 are in metro Atlanta, while over 1,600 are in north and northeast Georgia.
4:43 p.m. | Passengers at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport are experiencing departure delays of at least an hour due to severe thunderstorms, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. They also said the delays are expected to continue to grow.
4:29 p.m. | Downed wires have resulted in a road closure near the 4800 block of Valley Drive in Lilburn in Gwinnett County. No injuries have been reported, and the power company has been requested, Lilburn Police said.
4:28 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Clarke, Morgan, Greene, Oconee and Oglethorpe counties until 5:15 p.m.
4:20 p.m. | Several roads in Cherokee County are shut down due to downed trees. 108 at Ruff Whit is still closed and will likely be closed for several hours. Scott Road at Spring Drive is shut down, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
4:15 p.m. | Drivers in Calhoun are urged to avoid the area of Alton Drive near Peters Street, Reeves Street at Victory Drive, and East Line Street by Fain Cemetery due to downed trees.
4:11 p.m. | A part of Mabry Road in Cobb County is closed due to downed trees and wires. Drivers should find other ways to travel.
4:05 p.m. | Sandy Springs Police urged drivers to avoid the area of Jett Road from Tanglewood Trail to Mt. Paran Road NW due to several trees and wires down in the roadway. Jett Road is temporarily closed between Tanglewood Trail and Mt. Paran Road NW.
3:57 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning for Fayette, Pike, Meriwether, Heard, Coweta, Troup, Henry, Butts, Clayton and Spalding counties until 4:45 p.m.
3:52 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Peachtree City, Fayetteville and Newnan until 4 p.m.
3:44 p.m. | Several trees have collapsed in Cobb County, taking down powerlines and blocking roadways in the northern half of the county. Fire crews are working to clean up the debris.
3:42 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Snellville, Winder and Monroe until 4:30 p.m. with wind gusts up to 70 mph.
3:41 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Clarke, Barrow, Gwinnett, Newton, Rockdale, Oconee, Jackson, Morgan and Walton counties until 4:30 p.m.
3:28 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Fulton, DeKalb, Clayton, Gwinnett, Douglas, Henry, Rockdale, Newton, and Walton counties until 4:15 p.m. The warning also includes Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
3:24 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Fulton, Fayette, Coweta, Troup, Carroll and Heard counties until 4 p.m.
3:15 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Fulton, Gwinnett, Forsyth, Hall, Barrow, Banks, Jackson and Madison counties.
3:00 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Fulton, Cobb, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Paulding and Douglas counties until 3:30 p.m.
2:53 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Gwinnett, Hall, Forsyth, Dawson, Jackson and Banks counties until 3:15 p.m.
2:37 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Cobb, Douglas, Carroll, Paulding and Haralson counties until 3 p.m.
2:35 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Forsyth, Dawson and Cherokee counties until 3 p.m.
