ATLANTA — After a morning round of widespread storms, many across north Georgia are wondering if they can salvage their afternoon plans on Memorial Day or whether more storms could impact them.
We are expecting additional showers and storms to develop in our area this afternoon, but the coverage of these should remain fairly isolated.
Our southeastern counties' severe Thunderstorm Watch expires at 2 p.m., and the Storm Prediction Center has given them a low chance of severe weather.
Here's a snapshot of the afternoon coverage of shower and storm activity. It will stay limited enough to where many people can get in their outdoor plans without delays or weather woes but also present enough to where you'll want to stay aware of developing storms.
So, for Memorial Day Ceremonies, we'll have a low chance of a shower or storm.
The Jazz Festival going on today will also bring about a 30% chance of a shower or storm.
And for the game at Truist Park, a low-end chance for a shower or storm is also in the cards. For the Braves game, temperatures will otherwise be in the mid-80s.
