CARROLLTON, Ga. — It was a wild day of weather around metro Atlanta and north Georgia yesterday, with tornado warnings, severe thunderstorms and flooding hitting various parts of the region.
It produced incredible and harrowing images, from the driver who narrowly avoided a falling tree on I-285 to the mother and her baby who just escaped a tree crashing onto her car.
On the lighter side, it also blew a whole trampoline into somebody's trees.
Cassandra Morrow of Carrollton shared the wild picture with the 11Alive StormTrackers yesterday in the midst of the storms hitting the metro.
"So..... this just happened...," she wrote on the 11Alive StormTrackers group Facebook page. "Trampoline in our trees and not sure whose it is."
She included a faceplant and laughing/crying emoji.
Let's take a closer look:
Sure enough, that's a trampoline in the trees.
The trampoline appeared to get lodged some 10-15 feet up in the treeline outside Cassandra's house. With wind gusts that reached 50-60 mph in parts of the metro on Thursday, it's no surprise some stuff flew off.
One commenter on Cassandra's post wrote: "Ron White said, 'It's not that the wind blows...it's WHAT the wind blows." It can kill you! Stay safe."
Thankfully, Cassandra reported she was.
And as many other commenters pointed out, technically she now has a new trampoline.
"Yeah the kids been begging for one," she wrote with the faceplant and crying/laughing emojis again.
