GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County firefighters confirmed a tragic death Thursday, where a woman was killed by a tree that fell while she was out walking her dog in the neighborhood.
Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services said they were called to Capot Court outside of Snellville around 11:16 a.m.
When they arrived, they found the woman pinned down by the tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Crews said the dog was hurt and was turned over to an Animal Welfare officer for treatment.
The woman was later identified as 71-year-old Lynn Alice Trapp of Snellville.
