FLOYD COUNTY, Ga. — A tree split in half causing damage to two Floyd County homes Friday, officials said.
Rome/Floyd County fire officials said a tree along 1st Street damaged two homes on 1st Street in Shannon. Officials said the damage was moderate and no one was hurt.

Storms swept through parts of Georgia Friday causing some damage. In the northern part of Floyd County, a few trees went down that pulled down power lines.
The rain will be followed by colder temperatures next week.
