I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
Those lyrics to Bing Crosby's classic Christmas song spark a discussion every year about whether or not there will be snow on Christmas.
Well, keep dreaming folks.
According to WUSA9's Chief Meteorologist Topper Shutt, "on any given year we have an 11 percent chance of a white Christmas. That means an inch or more of snow on the ground. This year looks like a wet Christmas with showers and highs 46 – 50."
