UPDATES
6:03 P.M. | The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for portions of Oconee County, Clarke County, Madison County and Oglethorpe County through 6:30 p.m.
5:59 PM | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for DeKalb and Gwinnett counties through 6:30 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service, some cities in the path of this storm include Lawrenceville, Duluth, Sugar Hill, Snellville, Suwanee, Lilburn, Norcross, Doraville, Grayson, Berkeley Lake, Tucker, Mountain Park, Rosebud and Mechanicsville.
5:17 PM | A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Greene and Hancock counties. This is set to expire at 5:45 p.m.
2:25 P.M. | A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Crawford, Taylor, and Upson County, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
The warning was in effect until 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
Residents of the metro area should expect a few scattered storms.
11Alive's Stormtrackers team said they are also tracking a tropical depression (six) that is likely to become a tropical storm later today. When it reaches tropical storm status, it will be given the name Fred. Right now the storms are forecast to move toward the Dominican Republic, then just north of Cuba. By Friday or Saturday, the storm will move toward south Florida where it could enter the Gulf of Mexico.
