ATLANTA — Hundreds of thousands of Georgians are waking up in the dark for a second morning after bracing for the impacts of Tropical Storm Helene on Friday.
According to officials, roughly one million customers were affected by the storm.
The hurricane landed in Florida as a Category 4 storm on Thursday night, around 5 a.m. Friday, it was downgraded to a tropical storm as it made its way through Georgia.

As of 7 a.m., Georgia Power reported over 535,090 customers were impacted.
Georgia EMC
The Georgia EMC outage map can be found here. It does not provide detailed county-by-county numbers like Georgia Power's but offers an overview by region.
Current Total Outages: 340,619
In metro Atlanta, about 893 were reported at 7 a.m.
The Jackson EMC outage map can be found here. Similar to Georgia Power it does show a county-by-county numbers.
Current Total Outages: 85 out of 257,384 houses served at 6:59 a.m.
