GAINESVILLE, Ga. — In a race for governor featuring two Democrats named Stacey, it turns out the GOP front-runner also shares the name.
"Lowell is my first name, Stacy is my middle name, and Casey is actually a nickname that came on me when I was about five years old," Cagle told 11Alive News.
Unlike Democrats Stacey Abrams and Stacey Evans, Cagle spells "Stacy" with no E.
He has run for office in Georgia as Casey Cagle since 1994.

"Stacey who? I can't remember. It'll come to me," says a radio ad produced by the Republican Governors Association, mocking Democrats Stacey Abrams and Stacey Evans, though only by their first names. The rivals have become known as "the two Staceys." One of them will win the nomination Tuesday.
Cagle is the GOP front-runner, facing four rivals.
"The reality is that guys with the same name run against each other all the time. And there’s no stories about Ken versus Ken," said Andrew Evans, husband of Stacey Evans. "This is unusual because it’s two women running against each other."
If Lowell Stacy "Casey" Cagle wins the GOP nomination, the "two Staceys" story could become even more unusual.
