COBB COUNTY, Ga. — The Atlanta Braves have announced new updates to the team's game-day parking and transportation plan for SunTrust Park and The Battery.
Key updates for the 2018 season include:
- Consolidated ADA parking options that are more accessible to the ballpark
- A second Uber pick-up/drop-off location
- Increased on-site payment options for select parking lots
- New parking options for fans that are available for select games
One of the most significant changes for the upcoming season, Braves officials said, is the consolidation of ADA parking into two lots: the Red Deck and the N29 lot, both of which are closer to the ballpark. Last season, ADA parking was dispersed in multiple lots in and around the ballpark.
These two primary locations will offer closer parking options for ADA guests, with N29 served by a shuttle that will pick-up and drop-off at Battery Avenue, just outside the Third Base Gate. The shuttle service at N29 will start two-and-a-half hours prior to first pitch, while the Red Deck is open four hours before the beginning of a game.
A second Uber pick-up/drop-off location has also been added and will be located at Heritage Court and Battery Avenue. Postgame traffic will be routed west on Battery Avenue to Cobb Parkway. The Uber pick-up/drop-off location along Windy Ridge Parkway now offers new 12-foot-wide sidewalks and enhanced lighting along the length of the roadway to help accommodate passengers waiting for their rideshare vehicle.
The Braves also announced that seven parking lots will be able to accept payment by credit card on-site upon arrival. These lots, which include Red Deck, E29, E31, E35, E41, E42 and E43, are available for pre-purchase up to two-and-a-half hours prior to first pitch before fans can pay with a credit card upon arrival.
The Braves, who operate more than 10,000 total parking spaces around SunTrust Park and The Battery Atlanta, have also streamlined some parking options officials said. Two of the lots serviced by a shuttle in 2017 have been removed due to lack of use, while new lots that are closer to the ballpark are online for 2018. An expanded partnership with the Cobb Galleria will also more than double the parking options available in the location from the previous season.
"We're continually listening to our fans and learning how we can better serve them, and we believe these modifications to our parking and transportation plan will make for an even better experience in 2018," the Braves' president of development said.
All of the changes will be in place for the Braves' exhibition game versus the New York Yankees on Monday, March 26.
