We enjoyed sunshine through the weekend, but rain is back in the forecast for the start of the week. An incoming storm system will bring scattered showers and isolated storms Monday and Tuesday.
Starting the day with cloudy skies and temperatures begin in the 60s. It will be a cooler afternoon, thanks to the clouds and rain threat. Highs around 70.
Rain will be more likely during early afternoon. Look for scattered showers for the most part. Heavier rain will be south of the city. There maybe a rumble of thunder or two.
After 2pm, the showers become more isolated. Only a few of us will see the rain.
The storm threat is slightly higher for Tuesday but still limited.
The Storm Prediction Center has place a Marginal Risk (level 1) just south of the city of Atlanta today. The Marginal Risk covers the entire state by Tuesday.
Isolated storms may be capable of producing heavy rain, gusty winds, and hail.
Although rain will be hit-and-miss Monday afternoon, activity picks back up overnight. Showers and storms will be more widespread on Tuesday evening.
A few showers may linger into Wednesday as well, but we dry out for the middle of the week.
As sun returns, temperatures warm. Highs climb into the upper 70s by Wednesday and the low to mid 80s on Thursday. Humidity will also be on the rise, and much muggier conditions are expected for the end of the week.
