SUWANEE, GA -- A group of students allegedly targeted another by trying to frame them with a school threat.
Officials at Peachtree Ridge High School were made aware of a threat circling on social media alleging a violent act to take place at school.
The threat was posted with pictures of a student.
According to school officials, the student was falsely implicated by a group of other students.
The school sent a letter to parents about the threat saying that they will be taking disciplinary action against the students involved.
"In today's world, it is awful that our students, teachers, and parents have to worry about threats at school. However, it is even more troubling that there are individuals who would feed off of these fears to try and falsely accuse another student of making threats," said Principal Jeff Mathews in the letter.
Since the Parkland, Florida high school shooting on February 14, there have been over a dozen threats to Metro Atlanta schools.
