CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Two people were killed and three others - including a 3-year-old girl and a 101-year-old woman - were hurt in a three-vehicle wreck Saturday night on Knox Bridge Road in Cherokee County, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

Capt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said the preliminary investigation indicated that a BMW traveling westbound on Knox Bridge Road just west of Highway 108 at about 9 p.m., had crossed the center line of the roadway while on a curve and struck a Honda Fit in the eastbound lane.

At that point, according to Baker, the BMW lost control and was struck on its passenger side by a Honda Accord which was also eastbound on Knox Bridge Road.

Baker said the driver of the BMW, 35-year-old Samuel Joshua Kellogg and his passenger, 55-year-old Jimmy Chester, both from Canton, were killed.

According to Baker, the driver of the Accord, 32-year-old Brandon Smith, also from Canton was seriously injured and transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.  Smith's 3-year-old daughter was also hurt in the wreck and transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Their injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.

Baker said that the driver of the Honda, 57-year-old Lee Fitzpatrick of Woodstock was not hurt. His mother, 101-year-old Roberta Beatty, also from Woodstock, was transported to Northside Cherokee Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
