9-year-old drowns in pool at apartment complex in DeKalb, police say

Detectives are looking into how the boy drowned and other circumstances surrounding the situation.
The city has heard several reports about long wait times for ambulances for months

CLARKSTON, Ga. — DeKalb County Police are investigating after a 9-year-old boy drowned in a pool at an apartment complex on Friday.

Police responded to 751 North Indian Creek in Clarkston just after 6 p.m. on Friday in response to a drowning. When they got there, they found the boy unconscious.

He was rushed to a hospital, where he died, police said. The address is the location of Village at The Creek apartment complex.

Detectives are looking into how the boy drowned and other circumstances surrounding the situation.
